Today in 1928, the first TV station in the United States (W3XK) began broadcasting.
The inventor operating the TV station was Charles F. Jenkins who used radio receivers that had a special attachment which allowed them to broadcast moving pictures on a six-inch square mirror. Jenkins made the first public display of his radiovision on June 23, 1925.
W3XK was located in Wheaton, Maryland. Its first program consisted of a ten-minute segment of a revolving windmill.
